Week of May 4 -8: Terrific Technology #4 Germs, Creatures and Tech Skills

Hi Friends!

Quick a range of activities this week! First one is for K-4 students (Younger kids just go to the Green Germ link for the video). We'll start off with a super video from Mystery Doug about how germs get in your body. School is closed because of GERMS! What's a "germ"? Good question! It means any tiny tiny tiny living thing that can make us sick. Like the Corona Virus!
This activity as three parts:

a. CLICK HERE for my quick intro video with instructions for the Padlet activity at the end, then...

b. CLICK  The Green Germ for the video
How Germs Get in Your Body

c. Then...CLICK HERE to get to a page on Padlet to write down your thoughts from the video.

Caregivers/Teachers/Students of all ages, the Mystery Doug video shows WHY we are supposed to wash for at least 20 seconds!  Watch to the end to see the Green Hands Guy wash his hands!
Click the READ MORE link below for more stuff!

Switch Zoo Activity
Some students know about this program from Tech class, but ALL kids should know about it! You can create your own animal! Click the ZebraCatGiraffe picture to the right to get started!

I have another Padlet for you. CLICK HERE. Write in your note, First Name, Last Initial, Grade, Teacher. Then list the three animals you used for one of your creatures. Here's the big question...where would it live? What type of habitat?
Younger kids...post anything on the Padlet! What was fun about this?

Next activity. We are always keeping safety online in mind, and here's a video on how to set the search settings to the safest level for kids...or anyone. A lot of you are searching for information online. Here's how to be safe about it! This is for 3rd-4th students and something good to know for all caregivers. CLICK  Safe Searching in Google, Bing or Yahoo.

This activity is another "How-To", that is it shows how to learn to do something. This was another requested skill, how to put two pages or windows or web pages on your screen at the same time. It is a challenge and might need some caregiver help. Give it your best shot! CLICK HERE for the video.
